A great B&B in Putney to explore London – and more

Poised in London’s fashionable southwest, Putney is one of the most enchanting ‘villages’ that make up London; a place of rowing clubs, tennis courts and riverfront vistas, along with an excellent selection of restaurants and bars. Links to central London are easy and fast, but there’s no real need: at One Fanthorpe Street you can enjoy the Putney experience as a pampered resident in your temporary home.

Accommodation here is in two guest bedrooms. One is a double room with en suite shower room while the other is a twin bedded room with use of the adjacent bathroom. Both are simply but comfortably furnished with all the amenities you’re likely to need, including wifi throughout, tea and coffee making facilities, flat-screen TVs and super-comfortable beds, dressed with crisp white linens. A third bedroom can be made available by arrangement.

You’re not restricted to your bedroom here. One Fanthorpe Street has a large lounge and dining area with comfortable seating areas. It has a relaxed, elegant atmosphere and is a good place to recharge before heading back out onto the streets. Furnishings are antique but stylish: it’s a classic example of a private home in London, shared with you to perfect your stay in the city.

While most Wolsey Lodges provide full cooked breakfast, we don’t think that’s quite appropriate for a visit to London. Our continental breakfasts, however, are generous and often praised.

Location

Putney is perhaps one of London's finest regions. It's not a suburb - it's just across the river from Fulham and far too central for that. But it's not city centre either; despite fast and easy links to the West End it has a fabulous range of facilities and attractions of its own.

Parking in Putney will always be a challenge. Robert can usually arrange a visitor's permit (about £8 per car per day) but there's little advantage to bringing a vehicle for a visit to London: public transport works better.
