Haughley House
Haughley, Suffolk, IP14 3NS, EnglandMulti award-winning medieval manor house
Set within a conservation area, Haughley House is the most historical of homes: quiet, discreet, luxurious and above all has a charming country house atmosphere. It even has its own coat of arms and flag! The interiors are a sumptuous mix of high quality Georgian furniture and exquisite silk lined walls. Antique weapons, fans and plates add to the unique style and character of this Wolsey Lodge.
There are three guest bedrooms located in the oldest part of the house and the original oak beams are visible in all three. Both double rooms have period beds (including a majestic mahogany four poster) and en suite shower, whilst the twin room has en suite bath and shower. The comfortable sitting room is a lovely place to relax and take tea and homemade treats just after your arrival.
The three-acre garden has well stocked flower beds, an ancient Cedar of Lebanon and magnificent beech tree. The orchard and walled kitchen garden provides virtually all the vegetables for the house, the flock of hens provide eggs, and they even cure their own bacon. Dinner is full of fine fare particularly the game and beef, raised on site.

Reviews
"This is a very special Wolsey Lodge. A fantastically beautiful bedroom, it was like stepping back in time but with all mod cons. Fabulous food, entertaining company. A real experience of staying in an Englishman's home."
