Carricks at Castle Farm
Elsing Road, Swanton Morley, Dereham, Norfolk, NR20 4JT, EnglandMultiple award-winning country farmhouse
Carricks at Castle Farm is an eco-friendly luxury farmhouse set in beautiful Arts & Crafts landscaped gardens. Set amidst a working farm in a conservation area, this superb bed and breakfast dates back over 350 years, with later extensions by famous Norfolk architect Thomas Jeckyll.
Inside, the house is traditionally furnished with antiques and heirlooms from the Carrick family, farmers here since the 1920s. There is an open fire for colder days and a terrace with lovely views of the Wensum River: perfect for guests to take tea or just relax while appreciating the sunsets. There are walks from the door, along the river or through the countryside.
The guest bedrooms are airy and lavishly furnished with antiques and all manner of luxuries including fine linens, toiletries, bathrobes, ironing and tea/coffee facilities, television, plus ample heat and hot water from the sustainable fuel source. This place is serenely quiet, excepting the occasional goose, owl or the deep rumble of Carrick Farm’s own rare-breed cattle.
Delicious breakfasts are served en famille using home-produced ingredients and preserves. The mornings are relaxed and set Wolsey Lodge B&B guests up for the day. By special arrangement, equally good evening meals are available too.
