A warm welcome in the heart of Kent

This beautiful B&B brings you the ‘Garden of England’ in considerable style. A glorious property – rebuilt after being bombed in the Second World War – sits in seven acres of grounds, three of garden and four of paddock, with a hard tennis court and an outdoor heated pool.

There are three guest bedrooms here, all en-suite, beautifully furnished in an eclectic style that blends antique furnishings with the most contemporary comforts.  There is one double room with a superking bed, large en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath and a walk-in shower, a further double or twin room with en-suite shower and a double/family room with an en-suite shower. All include fluffy white towells, Egyptian cotton linens, REN toiletries and White Company bathrobes & slippers. Smart TVs are included, as is wifi throughout and tea/coffee & homemade biscuits are provided in each room.

Things only get better when you step outside your room. There’s a generous guest sitting room, a dining room for lavish evening meals –  feel free to bring your own wine which can be decanted or chilled down for you – and gardens that include a hard tennis court and a heated outdoor swimming pool, all set amongst historic trees with far reaching views across the valley. Add on paddocks for walks amongst grazing sheep/ponies and you have the formula for a very relaxing rural break in one of southern England’s most beautiful regions.  Delightful walks in abundance in the surrounding area.

Beacon Hall House B&B suggests

Afternoon teas greet every afternoon arrival with perhaps something a little stronger for those who arrive late. This is one of those Wolsey Lodges where you arrive as strangers and leave as friends.

Location

Beacon Hall House is set on the outskirts of Benenden village, which is skirted by Hempsted Forest: perfect for leisurely walks and bicycle rides, with the Hempsted Equestrian Centre for forest hacks. Within ten minutes drive you have the Biddenden, Chapel Down & Gusbourne vineyards. The market towns of Tenterden and Cranbrook are close by, while the coastline isn't far: Rye and Hastings are within half hour drive. Nearby National Trust properties include Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, Pashley Manor Gardens and Bodiam and Leeds castles. This is 1066 country, with the Norman Invasion freshly remembered.

Reviews

Everything was perfect. The room was beautiful with fresh flowers, homemade shortbread, a great shower, luxury products, tea and coffee, robes, soft towels - I could go on and on. Food was fantastic. Fresh fruit at breakfast, fresh homemade bread and jams, cooked breakfast cooked to perfection. We had the privilege of having dinner on the first night which was beautifully cooked and delicious. Julie is the most lovely host you could imagine. The pool was a pleasure we hadn't thought we would have the weather to use! We cannot recommend this place highly enough.
