A tasteful haven in a quiet Salisbury enclave

19 Glenmore Road is a very comfortable B&B in a quiet area close to central Salisbury. In a beautifully restored early Victorian property it has two guest bedrooms, a sunny living room and terrace, and a secluded lawned garden.

The two guest bedrooms are on the first floor and have a focus on quiet relaxation. They’re large, airy and beautifully furnished. Beds are comfortable, bathrobes fluffy and linens crisp. The Rose Room is spacious and light with a double bed and an ensuite bathroom – but it’s a bath only, with no shower. The Green Room overlooks the garden, and can be configured as a superking double or with twin beds. This has a private bathroom, with a bath and walk in shower, just across the landing. Both rooms have wifi, TVs, quality toiletries and facilities to make your own teas and coffees.

You’re not confined to your room here. There’s a sitting room with plenty of books to read, and a sunny terrace overlooking the garden. Breakfasts are a highlight, with home-made bread and muesli, eggs from Glenmore Road’s own hens and honey from Salisbury Plain.  A full cooked English breakfast is of course available, but alergies or special diets can be catered for: just let your hosts know.

Glenmore Road is home to two cats so cannot accept dogs. Children over the age of ten are welcome. It’s a friendly and civilised base in a friendly and civilised city.

Location

19 Glenmore Road is in a quiet part of northern Salisbury, a 25-minute walk from the centre. It's perfectly placed to explore the Cathedral, Cathedral Close, and the medieval city centre. From here you can take a tour to Stonehenge or the smaller, more intimate Avebury, where you can walk amongst the stones and touch them if you like: there are sheep to keep the grass down. Other nearby attractions include Old Sarum, the site of Salisbury's first cathedral; Wilton House and any number of other stately homes and gardens.

Reviews

This is probably the nicest B and B place I've stayed in - it felt like a really homely and luxurious treat! Tim and his wife Biddy were incredibly welcoming and there were so many thoughtful and unique touches. If you are staying in the Salisbury area, you should definitely stay here!

Mary, London

Tim and Biddy’s home is beautiful and they could not have done more to make us feel welcome and enjoy our stay.

We had such a great time staying with Tim and Biddy...they made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped into their home...the breakfast choices were just brilliant and they were ever so helpful with suggestions ... a truly fantastic place to stay

Sylvia, Austria

With sprigs of fresh mint waiting in our room for a pot of tea, the sun gleaming into the cozy room through large windows, the grand English breakfast served in the morning, and their helpfulness and conversation, my Mom and I couldn't be more pleased with out stay.

Gillian, New York

Tim and Biddy were SOOO nice! We shared our interest in photography and they took the time to learn more about my business. A FANTASTIC English breakfast in the morning really topped off my visit to Salisbury.

Matthew, Georgia

Truly gracious hosts, knowledgeable tour guides and engaging conversationalists. Their home is lovely, the guest rooms elegant and well equipped, but also warm and welcoming.

Gerry, UK

If I could give Tim & Biddy 6 stars I would!
